In Loving Memory
On Monday, November 16, 2015, at 10:00 PM EST, after a short but valiant fight, my puppy Einstein lost his battle with cancer. He was six years old, born on September 11, 2009, and the love of my life.
The world is darkened by the loss of his shining light.
"I saw my baby
Crying hard as babe could cry,
What could I do?
My baby's love had gone
And left my baby blue,
Nobody knew . . . "
David Bowie
1947-2016
On Saturday, 11/17/18, my dog Percy died. He passed away at the age of ten years and almost four months, between 4 AM and 7:40 AM.
Last year, inspired by the incredible tale of the 9/11 Boatlift, I wrote a reflection about how all of us have heroism within us. I have chosen to post that reflection again, now with the tribute video which inspired it at the bottom. As the world continues to grow ever more despairing, I believe it is more important than ever that we remember how to hope; remember how to be everyday heroes. On this solemn day, please take a moment to read, to watch the unbelievable tale that so inspired
For without him our idea on the nature of the universe would be so much smaller.
I have know for days of his passing, but I wanted everyone else to make their posts first. I wanted my voice to be heard, so I wanted not to be lost in the noise.
This video I made not only pays tribute to the 100th episode "Slice Of Life", but also to a good friend of mine who passed away this year.
(sings) And when I grow too old to dream
Your love will live in my heart!
WARNING: The song I chose for this video is VERY heavily sentimentalized, so for those of you who are sensitive to heavy sentimentality, please refrain from watching if you wish.
Apparently getting sick means that after I recover, I become more powerful productive.
I knew it was worth picking up the Anime Protagonist perk at level 1.
